CASE HIGH SCHOOL TARDY ROOM
As professionals working with your students each day, we understand and take seriously your expectation that all students be provided the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, free from distractions. In addition, we too believe in the importance of instilling in young adults the need to be punctual. The staff at Case High School is excited to partner with our families to raise expectations for every student!
Beginning 1st period, all students are expected to be in their classrooms prior to the bell signaling the beginning of each class period. Students who are not in their assigned classroom when the bell rings will be required to spend the remainder of that class period in a supervised ‘Tardy Room’.
*Please note that students who have an approved pass are considered excused, and will be allowed into their classrooms.
While in the Tardy Room, attendance will be taken. Students will be expected to silently work on homework, study, or read. During periods 4-5-6, students in the Tardy Room will be given the option of ordering a cold lunch from the cafeteria, which will be delivered to the Tardy Room. The cost for this lunch will be the standard charge for a cafeteria hot lunch. Free or Reduced Lunch status will be honored in this room as well. Students may opt-out of ordering a cold lunch, but they may not leave for lunch, or go to the cafeteria to get a lunch.
Please emphasize to your student the importance of punctuality, and the consequences of tardiness. We believe this will move us toward reaching our goals of higher student achievement and a better learning environment for students. - SIT QUIETY AND REMAIN IN YOUR SEAT
- PRINT YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME AND CIRCLE YOUR SUB SCHOOL. THIS WILL BE USED TO MARK YOU TARDY. IF YOU REFUSE TO SIGN YOUR NAME OR PROVIDE A FALSE NAME, YOU WILL BE MARKED TRUANT.
- SILENTLY WORK ON YOUR HOMEWORK, STUDY, OR READ UNTIL DISMISSAL.
- RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS.
- IF YOU ARE DISRUPTING THE TARDY ROOM, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE DEFIANT WITH THIS EXPECTATION, YOU WILL BE ESCORTED TO YOUR SUB SCHOOL.
